Hockey highlights. Without the score.

Hockey game highlight videos without spoilers. ScoreCover lists every NHL, Liiga and SHL game with the score covered and plays the official highlights in full screen, so you see the result only when you choose to. ScoreCover showing NHL games with every score covered

Try it yourself

Two real games. Scores covered.

Two games from early October 2026, shown the way the app shows them. Watch the official highlights, reveal the score when you want to, and switch the team order as you can in the app’s settings.

Team order

NHL · Mon 5 Oct 2026

Final · TBL – PHI PHI @ TBL

  1. Lightning Home Score covered
  2. Flyers Away Score covered

Liiga · Sat 3 Oct 2026

Final · ILV – KES KES @ ILV

  1. Ilves Home Score covered
  2. K-Espoo Away Score covered

The videos play in the official players of the NHL and YouTube, which load only when you press play. Their own privacy policies apply.

The problem

Spoilers are everywhere

You missed the game and want to watch the highlights. Before you get to press play, the result is already waiting for you.

Results and league apps

Open a league app or a results page, and the final score is the first thing you see.

Video titles and thumbnails

Highlight videos often show the score, the winner or the celebration before the video starts.

Notifications

A news or sports alert can give the result away before you have even unlocked your phone.

News and social media

Headlines and feeds report the result within minutes of the final buzzer.

ScoreCover keeps the result out of sight until you decide to see it. Even its notifications only tell you that the recap is out.

How it works

Pick a game. Watch. Reveal the score when you want.

  1. Pick a game

Games are listed by day with every score covered. A game in progress shows no score or game situation either.

  2. Watch the highlights

Tap play and the video opens in full screen: the NHL’s short or long recap, or the official Liiga or SHL recap.

  3. Reveal when you are ready

One tap shows the score and opens the game page: goals and penalties on a timeline, with videos of the NHL goals, the periods, team and player stats. Tap a team or a player to open their card.

Videos in the app

Official hockey highlights, in full screen

ScoreCover plays official hockey videos inside the app: the NHL’s recaps, longer NHL highlights from Sportsnet and the official Liiga and SHL recaps. Tap play and the video opens straight in full screen, with no score in sight.

An NHL recap playing full screen in ScoreCover: Flyers at Lightning, first period, 0–0
NHL: Short and LongShort is the NHL’s recap of the game, in the NHL’s own video player. Long is Sportsnet’s game highlights from YouTube, or the NHL’s condensed game. Pictured: the recap of Flyers at Lightning, first period, 0–0.
A Liiga recap from YouTube playing full screen in ScoreCover: Ilves – K-Espoo, first period, 0–0
Liiga: official recapsLiiga’s official game recaps from YouTube, whose titles do not show the score. Pictured: Ilves – K-Espoo, first period, 0–0.

Straight to full screen. The video starts from the play button in the game list.

The goals as their own videos. After the reveal, play the goals of NHL games from the timeline.

Revealed games are remembered. A game you have revealed stays revealed next time.

Teams and players

Standings and player stats after the reveal

Once you have revealed a game, tap a team on the game page to see where it stands, or tap a player to see their career. The standings are counted up to the day before the game and a player’s stats up to and including the game, so the games played after it are not given away.

Team card

Place, points, games and goal difference, the home, away and last 10 records and the current streak. The NHL conference standings, or the whole Liiga or SHL table with the season’s playoff, play-in and relegation lines.

Player card

Number, position, age, birthplace, height and weight, and the NHL draft. The whole career season by season in the regular season and the playoffs, with career totals and, for NHL and SHL players, their other leagues.

Team card: the Hurricanes
A player card in ScoreCover: Sebastian Aho’s details, NHL draft and NHL career season by season, this season through the game
Player card: Sebastian Aho

Nothing after the game. The standings count the games before the game day and a player’s stats also the game you revealed, so later games are not given away, even if you watch days afterwards.

Opens from the game page. Tap a team, a scorer, an assistant, a penalty, one of the three stars or a row on the Players tab.

The season and the whole career. After the reveal, the goals show the scorer’s and the assistants’ goals and assists of the season, and the player card shows the player’s whole career season by season.

Favorite teams

A notification when the recap is out. Never the score.

Choose your favorite teams and turn on notifications. ScoreCover then tells you when their recap is ready. The notification shows the teams and the league but never the score, and a tap opens the recap.

  • Choose your teams in Settings → Leagues, or tap the star on a team card.
  • Your favorite teams are starred in the games list. Above the list, you can put their games first (Favorites first) or show only those (Favorites only).
  • Notifications for NHL, Liiga and SHL recaps. For the NHL, choose the short recap, the long one (the condensed game) or both.
  • Quiet hours: turn them on in Settings → Notifications, and notifications that come at night wait until the morning.

Notifications stay off until you turn them on.

Features

Built around one rule: no spoilers

Everything in ScoreCover is designed so that the result stays hidden until you want to see it.

Every score covered

Final scores stay covered in the game list, and a game in progress shows no game situation.

Full-screen highlights

The NHL’s short and long recaps and the official Liiga and SHL recaps open straight in full screen. NHL goals also play one by one.

The whole game behind a reveal

A timeline of goals and penalties with the season’s goals and assists, the periods, team and player stats, and the NHL’s three stars.

Team cards and standings

After the reveal: place, points, form and the standings as they were before the game day.

Player cards

Every player’s career season by season, up to and including the game, nothing after it.

Revealed games remembered

A game you have revealed stays revealed the next time you open it.

Result after the recap

Watch a recap to the end and the result is shown. Stop halfway and it stays covered.

Share a game, not the score

Send a game to a friend as a link. Neither the message nor the link gives the result away.

Favorite teams

A star by the team name marks your favorites in the games list. The Favorites first order puts their games at the top, and the Favorites only filter hides the rest.

Notified, never spoiled

A notification when a favorite team’s recap is out. It never shows the score.

Your time zone

Privacy

No account. No data sold.

ScoreCover needs nothing from you to work. The privacy policy explains exactly what the app handles.

  • No sign-up, and we don’t ask for your name, email address or location.
  • A random install ID, not linked to you, counts how many people use the app and, from version 2.2, how it is used, such as which recaps are opened. You can turn usage statistics off in the settings.
  • From version 2.2, your favorite teams are stored on the server with the install ID, even with usage statistics off. If you turn notifications on, a notification token and your notification settings are stored too, and the notifications go through Google and, on iPhones, also Apple.
  • Most settings, such as the theme, are stored only on your phone.
  • You can delete your data in the settings. Data is not sold or used to target ads.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is ScoreCover?

ScoreCover is a free iPhone and iPad app for hockey game highlight videos without spoilers, from the NHL, Liiga and the SHL. Games are listed with every score covered, the highlights play in full screen, and the result shows only when you reveal it. The NBA is in the app too, with every score covered until you reveal it.

Is ScoreCover free?

Yes. ScoreCover is free to download from the App Store, and it works without an account.

Which leagues does ScoreCover cover?

In hockey, the NHL, Liiga (Finland’s top hockey league) and the SHL (Sweden’s top hockey league). In basketball, the NBA, with every score covered. You choose the sport at the top of the app. You can hide the sports and leagues you don’t follow and choose which league the app opens first.

Where do the videos come from?

NHL games have the NHL’s recap (Short) in the NHL’s own video player and a longer highlight video (Long): Sportsnet’s game highlights from YouTube, or the NHL’s condensed game when Sportsnet has none. Liiga games have Liiga’s official recaps from YouTube, whose titles do not show the score. SHL games have the SHL’s official recaps from shl.se, in the SHL’s own video player. ScoreCover does not host any videos itself.

Can I see the goals and stats?

Yes, once you reveal the game. The game page has a timeline of goals and penalties that shows each scorer’s and assistant’s goals and assists of the season, the periods, team and player stats and, for NHL games, the three stars. In NHL games, the goals on the timeline also have their own videos. NBA games have none of this at the moment.

Can I see the standings and player stats?

Yes, once you reveal the game. Tap a team on the game page to see its place, points, recent form and the standings: the conference in the NHL and the whole table in Liiga and the SHL. Tap a player to see their career season by season. The standings count the games played before the game day, and a player’s stats include the game you revealed but nothing after it, so the cards do not give away later games you may not have watched yet. NBA games have no team or player cards at the moment.

Does ScoreCover hide games in progress too?

Yes. While a game is in progress, ScoreCover shows neither the score nor the game situation until you reveal it.

What does ScoreCover show of NBA games?

Every NBA game, day by day, with the score covered until you reveal it, even while the game is in progress. When a recap of the game can be watched in your country, it plays in the app. ScoreCover has no detailed NBA game data at the moment, such as player stats or standings.

Can ScoreCover tell me when a recap is out?

Yes. Choose your favorite teams in Settings → Leagues, or tap the star on a team card, and turn on notifications. ScoreCover then tells you when their recap is out, and the notification never shows the score. For the NHL, you choose the short recap, the long one (the condensed game) or both. With quiet hours on, notifications that come at night wait until the morning.

Is ScoreCover available for Android?

Not yet. ScoreCover is coming to Google Play. If you would like to try the Android version before its release, join the Android beta by email.

What time are NHL games in Europe?

A game that starts at 7 pm in New York starts at 1 am in Central Europe and Sweden and at 2 am in Finland, so most NHL games are easiest to watch the next morning. ScoreCover can list them under the NHL’s game day or under your own day, and show Eastern Time next to your own time.

What data does ScoreCover collect?

No account is needed, and we don’t ask for your name, email address or location. The app creates a random install ID, not linked to you. It counts how many people use the app and, from version 2.2, how it is used, such as which recaps are opened. You can turn usage statistics off in the settings. From version 2.2, your favorite teams are stored on the server with the install ID, even with usage statistics off. If you turn notifications on, a notification token and your notification settings are stored too, and the notifications go through Google and, on iPhones, also Apple. Most settings, such as the theme, stay on your phone. You can delete your data in the settings. Data is not sold or used to target ads. Read more in the privacy policy.

Which languages is ScoreCover available in?

English, Finnish, German, French and Swedish.
